Hello! Today is the day Simon Hurley’s newest collection with Spellbinders is released. It’s called Ski-son’s Greetings and it’s great for all of you snow bunnies out there. y card today uses the Ski Lodge Die Set, which reminds me of a LEGO set my son and I really want to build. I also used a couple of the October Club Kits from Spellbinders to create a wintery scene.

I’m going to be honest. It took me quite a bit of time to cut and assemble the Ski Lodge. It doesn’t look like it would be finicky, but it is. I made a few mistakes while putting it together, but I hid them with those trees in the front. Sneaky sneaky! I love how the lodge looks with these shades of brown. All the details are so fabulous, it almost makes up for how teeny weeny some of the pieces are. You may want to die cut all of these parts on double sided adhesive sheets, so that gluing everything after it’s all cut out is easier.

For my background, I used the October Embossing Folder of the Month from Spellbinders. I inked up the front side of the folder with Speckled Egg Distress Ink, and ran it through my die cut machine with white cardstock. I repeated this one more time to solidify that color a bit. Then, I used Broken China Distress Ink around the edges to create a vignette effect. My sentiment is from the October Clear Stamp & Die Set from Spellbinders, which I inked with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink. I used foam tape to pop up different areas of the scene.

Even though this die set was more finicky than I had expected, the end result is fabulous. It’s such a great lodge/house and I want to try making it in other color ways. Please be sure to visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest releases. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
