Greetings! What’s your hot beverage of choice in the winter? Coffee? Tea? Hot cocoa? I like all 3, so I was really excited to play with some of the July Club Kits from Spellbinders to make not one, but 2 hot beverage-themed cards. Plus, one is a shaker!

I built both of the mugs before moving onto the cards themselves. I always enjoy being able to customize die sets like these. For example, where the candy cane will go, What colors to make the handles and scarf, etc. I didn’t do any shading on these characters, but I did add some white highlights with a gel pen onto the Santa mug.
On the penguin card, I decided to use the July ’25 Embossing Folder of the Month, which I inked (after embossing) with Prize Ribbon Distress Ink. I also embossed a white panel, to use behind my shaker window. I used the Essential Arches Die Set from Spellbinders to make my shaker window and I filled it with an old Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blend called Snow Birds. I loved that there were penguins in it!
Behind my Santa Mug, I used the Waterfall Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink. I added some residual ink around the opposite edges of the panel so that it wasn’t too white and empty. I also added some Hologram Red Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs for some shine.
To finish off the penguin card, I inked the card base with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink and added a sentiment from the Clear Stamp and Die Set of the Month. I inked it with Paradise VersaFine Clair Ink. I used a sentiment from that same set on the Santa Mug card with Strawberry VersaFine Clair.
