Hello! I have a card that uses 2 sets from Spellbinders’ La Dolce Vita Collections. Specifically, the La Dolce Vita Banners and Deckside Dreams. The Deckside Dreams Die Set has a fun cruise ship that has a dimensional hull, which is really unique!

I have a thing for using red, white, and blue for nautical cards. It’s not because I want to make them look American…I just think it’s a classic color combo for boats, beachy, and coastal cards. So I decided to use several shades of blue for the water, plus red, navy, and white for the ship. This is all just straightforward die cutting. Nothing too crazy at all.

I decided to use vellum for the steam, which I think looks great! I really love how much the boat pops off the card front too. I die cut my banner sentiment with red & white cardstock, and I offset them a bit to help them stand out. I didn’t do any inking on any of the pieces, I kept it all very simple. I also left my card base white.

There are lots of ways you can customize this card. You can use different colors in the ocean (think of how the water looks during a sunset), you can use lots of colors for the ship, and of course you can change out the sentiments. But I kept things classic, in a very un-Alison like way. But I like it! Please visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest releases. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
