Hello! Simon Hurley has a new collection with Spellbinders, and it’s called Sky’s the Limit. My card today uses the Fly a Kite Die Set and a sentiment from the Soaring Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set. Plus, I got to break out one of the coolest stencils ever created- the Cloud Edger Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. If you haven’t seen this stencil, you really must check it out.

I used a bright and cheerful color palette to create my kites. I did a bit of ink blending on the kites with residual ink that was on my Waffle Flower Shader 1+ Brushes. It’s subtle, but it adds some faux dimension. My sentiment was inked with Bali Blue VersaFine Clair Ink.

The Cloud Edger Stencil was inked with Salty Ocean Distress Ink and a Medium Blending Brush. I love this stencil because you can create realistic-looking clouds easily. Once I finished the background, I popped up the kites and the sentiment with 1/4″ Foam Tape from A Cherry on Top. I inked my card base with Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy, and Mustard Seed Distress Inks.

This came out so cute, and the only real fiddly bits are the bows, and you can absolutely omit them if you want. There’s a third kite style in this die set that I didn’t use, but I’ll have it on another project soon. Please visit Spellbinders to see the entire Sky’s the Limit Collection.
