Hello! I’m sharing one of my favorite cards that I’ve made for this month today. It uses the very cool Arabesque Tile stencil from A Colorful Life Designs with the Bird & Egg Colorize dies from Sizzix and Tim Holtz. I opted to not use the egg today.

I started by making a Gel Press monoprint on my 6×6 Plate. I used a piece of sheet music (sheet music is so perfect for making prints!) with some Violet Iron Oxide and metallic gold paint. I used teal with the stencil for a sort of patinaed look. I love that you can still see some of the notes through the acrylics. All of the paints I used today are from Golden.

My bird was made with assorted shades of brown and cream. It went together easier than I expected. I just love it’s little face! Because the monoprinted layer and the bird are both so cool, I didn’t want to do much more to the card. I inked the edge of the base with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide, then swiped some Golden Glitz Delicata Ink on top to coordinate with the gold paint. I added a simple “hi” from Pinkfresh Studios and some Satin Matte Gold Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

This was so much fun to make. The monoprint is so grungy and I really love the bird. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
