Hello! At this time of year, the skies are often gray, and I needed a burst of sunlight. I decided to use the Half Sun stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create a vibrant, encouraging card. I also got to use a die from Hero Arts that I love.

I inked the Half Sun stencil on Smooth Bristol Cardstock from Strathmore. I used Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and Lumberjack Plaid. I used those same colors on the Phoenix Bird die cut from Hero Arts.
The stencil is a 3×5, so I had a lot of space left on my card, and I didn’t want to flip it to make it a complete sun. Instead, I used some glittery gold paper from my stash to the open side. It looks so great with the other elements. I also added a sentiment from Spellbinders’ Bestie Sentiments Press Plates & Dies. I popped the Phoenix Bird up with foam strips.
This card certainly brought a lot of sun to my gray day! I love how fiery it is. Please head over to the A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
