Hello! I am infatuated by the sweetness of the Nichol’s Needlework collection by Nichol Spohr and Spellbinders. I don’t do actual embroidery (though I love how it looks), so this is a fun way to get the look without the actual stitching. And each set is so sweet. I was excited to work with the Faux Embroidered Pumpkin set today, as well as the main Gathering Stitches set.

I made the embroidery hoop with Kraft colored cardstock and the aida cloth out of black. I thought it would be a great contrast with the pumpkins. I used a couple different brands of colored cardstock, but the majority is from My Colors. I really like not just the color palette, but the textures too. I didn’t use any extra ink or colorant on these die cuts, except for a single Copic to define the texture of the stems a bit.
For my background. I used the Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder from Spellbinders. I love this folder, and I’ll have another project to share with it soon. To get this look, I used a piece of Kraft paper and inked the top flap of the folder with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, so when I ran it through my machine, the debossed areas took the ink. I added a sentiment from Nichol’s Needlework Sentiments, inked with Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink. My card base was painted along the edges with an old orange spray I had, that is sadly no longer available.
I seriously love how this card turned out. And there are still a bunch of dies I didn’t use in the pumpkin set, like the hat. I look forward to using it soon! Be sure to visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest collections. I’ll have more to share soon. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
