Hello! I have really been enjoying making cards with florals and foliage on black cardstock with metallic embossing. You can check out a video I did in this style HERE. When I saw the new 6×6 Agapanthus Stamp from Stampendous (available through Spellbinders), I knew I wanted to use it this way.

I grabbed some Black Mixed Media Paper from Scrapbook.com for my focal panel. I stamped the Agapanthus with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed it with a champagne colored embossing powder. I wanted to add some silver, so in the open flowers, I painted Scintillating Silver Glitzy Magicals from Lindy’s Gang. The Glitzy collection has no color, it’s pure shimmer, so it was perfect for this card. Then I splattered on Snazzy Sparkle, from that same collection.
Fir the sentiment, I used some silver and gold foiled paper and the Thanks Enclosed dies from Spellbinders. I used the silver for the shadow layer so that it would stand out on top of the gold flower. I needed even more shine, so I used the Aged Silver embossing powder from Stampendous (no longer available) on the border of my card base. This powder has several colors in it…not just silver, so it has a great molten effect when it’s embossed. I popped up the focal panel with some 1mm foam strips from Scrapbook.com for more drama.
This card would work for many other occasions beyond birthday. And you could change the colors up with colored metallic embossing powders for a totally different feel. Be sure to visit Spellbinders to see the other new cling stamps that were released from Spellbinders. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
