Hello! My card today is from the brain of my son Phoenix. I was trying to figure out how I wanted to use the new Make a Splash stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. It’s a 6×9 stencil that has a variety of splashes, drips, and drops on it. He suggested that I use the 3 drips as paint, and he asked if I had a paint brush. It just so happens I have the Artful Brush die set from Spellbinders, and it was perfect for his vision.

I went through a bunch of backgrounds that I had in my stash, and I came across one that was made with Color Burst powders from Ken Oliver. I trimmed it down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and decided to focus on that gorgeous teal. I have some teal vellum that is ridiculously old and I tore a piece for the bottom and used it for the paint on the brush.
After I die cut the rest of the brush and put it all together, I figured out where I wanted it so that I could plot the drips that I’d make with the Make a Splash stencil. Once that was determined, I used Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide to get them onto the paper. The sentiment was from the May 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts Around the edge of my white card base, and I used Twilight VersaFine Clair ink for it. I inked a bit of Twisted Citron Distress Ink sporadically.
I love this card! It’s so bright and happy, and it’s extra special because it was Phoenix’s idea. Please head over to the A Colorful Life Designs website.
