Hello! I love the appearance of movement that the new Fishy Frame stencil from A Colorful Life Designs has. It’s such a unique stencil, and I really like that there’s a spot for a sentiment, if you choose to use it that way.

I wanted a textural, interesting, but not patterned background for the fish. I went through my Gel Press prints and found this one, that was made with fluid acrylics and a foam stamp. It’s got a super subtle, random design on it, and the colors were perfect. I love that there are such light areas too, almost like the sun is shining into the water.
I applied VersaMark Ink through my stencil with a sponge dauber. I find this to be the easiest way to apply it, since it’s a sticky ink. After I removed and cleaned my stencil, I sprinkled on a pearly blue embossing powder (it was from Stampendous and is no longer available). I heat set it and the results are so beautiful. You can really see the shine in the photo above. I added my sentiment in that open area with Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink and then I heat embossed it with Chipped Sapphire Distress Embossing Glaze. The stamp was also from Stampendous and is no longer available. I actually left my card base white, for a change.
I love the texture and shine on this card. The Gel Press print really works as water, and the pearly fish are so cool.
