Greetings! I am really excited about the new Out & About collection from Spellbinders. There are varying themes in the collection, but it all has to do with being outdoors and enjoying life. My card today features Skateboarding Terry, which is an adorable pup, riding a skateboard (if you wish).

I started off by die cutting Terry and her skateboard. For her, I used a speckled ivory cardstock, plus some black for her nose, eye, and collar. There’s no actual eye piece to add, so I just adhered some black behind the hole. The skateboard was done with a very old patterned paper, that I thought would work for a funky board. I ink blended a bit of Lost Shadow Distress Ink on the dog, and used some Candied Apple on the skateboard. I added a few highlights using my Uniball White Signo Gel Pen. For the ear, I added a touch of pink with a Copic marker.
I needed a bold background for this pup, so I grabbed some old cardstock from Prima that has a grungy pattern on it. I used the Sending Sunshine Sentiments from Spellbinders and repeated my sentiment several times down the side of the paper. I used VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne, and then heat embossed it with black. I thought it added to the urban feel I was going for. I wanted to pull out the red that is in the skateboard, so I splattered on some Rhubarb Stalk Fireworks Spray from Imagine, and some Lumberjack Plaid Distress Spray Stain. I tore a piece of the back side of the skateboard cardstock and placed it in the upper right corner, and added a piece of gray cardstock (distressed with Lost Shadow Distress Ink) under Terry for a ground. I also inked the edges of my card base with Lost Shadow.
Seriously, I love this Out & About collection. It’s so whimsical and fun. You’ll be seeing more creations using it soon. Please be sure to visit the Spellbinders website to see all of the dies available. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
