Hello! Today’s card uses my Week 12 of my #MonoprintMondays series. You can check out the YouTube Short HERE. Oh! And I am ridiculously close to hitting 1000 subscribers on YouTube, so if you haven’t already done so, I would truly appreciate it if you subscribed to my channel. Back to the card. I really like taking the monoprints I’ve made and sharing what I do with them, because I really try not to just make them and leave them in a stack. There are two coupon codes at the bottom of this post, so don’t miss them!

As you saw in the YT Short, I made this Gel Press print with my 3×5 Plate, some fluid acrylics, and some leaves from my garden. I really like how this print turned out, but it needed further embellishing. I grabbed the new-to-me Field of Crosses from A Colorful Life Designs, and inked up some of the crosses with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne. You really can’t use a dye ink on top of acrylics, as they’ll never dry and will rub off. I chopped the monoprint down with my Tonic Deckle Trimmer. The edges are rough (which I love!) because the print was done on copy paper and the trimmer prefers thicker paper.
To mat the focal layer, I added a piece of cardstock behind it which I roughly inked with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. Behind that, I grabbed a very old piece of Prima patterned cardstock and layered it. On my card base, I used Cattail Copper Brown from Lindy’s Gang and their Autumn Leaves Magicals collection. It added just the right amount of shimmer to the card. In addition, I used Simon Says Stamp’s Tiny Words stamp set for my sentiment, which I also topped with the Cattail Copper Brown.
If you like to see how I use my monoprints, I have several videos on my YouTube channel, including THIS one and THIS one. I am really happy with how today’s card came out. The Field of Crosses is really like a plus or positive symbol to me here, so the sending good vibes was really appropriate. If you’d like to shop the thousands of stencils at A Colorful Life Designs, don’t forget to use my coupon code, AlFan10 to save 10%. In addition, if you’d like to give Lindy’s Magicals a try (which I highly recommend you do!), you can use my code P6GKPI07KTCTAV to save 10% there as well. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
