Hello! Today I have another project that combines the fantastic sublimation products from Artesprix, with the wonderful designs of Heffy Doodle. This time, I decorated the Beverage Caddy with a really fun stencil and Sublimation Ink Pads.

What is Iron-On Ink?
Artesprix Sublimation Markers, Ink, and Paint are specially formulated to allow you to use basic copy paper to: color, stamp, stencil, and monoprint anything you wish and turn it into a heat-transferable design. These designs are then applied to a polyester or polyester coated substrate with heat and pressure. You can use a heat press or a home iron! These designs, through this process of sublimation, will become permanent on your substrates.
Supplies:
Artesprix:
Beverage Caddy
Sublimation Ink Pads in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple
Protective Paper
Heat Tape
Other:
Heffy Doodle: Fiesta Time Stencil
Blending Brushes
Washi/Low Tack Tape
Heat Press or Iron
Copy Paper
Step 1: Trace the Beverage Caddy onto a piece of copy paper with a pencil. Your pencil lines will not transfer during the sublimation process.
Step 2: Using washi or low tack tape, adhere the stencil to the copy paper. I recommend letting a bit of the stencil go past the pencil lines, to ensure complete coverage.
Step 3: Begin applying the Sublimation Inks in rainbow order horizontally down the stencil using blending brushes. I recommend having a set of brushes that are only used for Artesprix’s Sublimation Ink Pads.
Step 4: Once you complete the first side, remove the stencil and re-tape to the other side. All of the patterns line up with each other on this stencil, but at varying intervals. So you will need to do a section at a time. Be sure to use lots of tape to mask off the areas you’re not inking to avoid messing up the pattern.
This is what the finished design looks like once both sides have been stenciled. The repeating patterns are so striking!
Step 5: Use lots of Heat Tape to secure the Beverage Caddy face down onto your finished design. Also be sure to adjust your heat press (if you have one) to accommodate the thickness of this Blank.
Step 6: Let’s make our Sublimation Sandwich! Add a layer of siliconized paper to the top and bottom of your Blank. Your sandwich will be: Protective Paper-Design-Blank-Protective Paper. The Protective Paper prevents any images accidentally transferring to either side of your Heat Press or to your home iron.
Step 7: Press the Sublimation Sandwich for 45 seconds.
Step 8: Time for the Peek Test! Carefully lift a small portion of your art off of the Blank to ensure a good transfer. If you need to re-press your piece, you can do it since you haven’t moved the art out of place. It always blows my mind when I see how much more vibrant the colors become after sublimation!
Here is my finished Beverage Caddy with the original art. This came out so fantastic!
You can now add your beverage of choice to the center, and your glasses either face up or down in the side notches. I love how this Heffy Doodle stencil looks on the Beverage Caddy.
