Hello! Today’s card uses a really elegant Fall stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, called Pumpkin Pouf. The design of this stencil is bigger than an A2, so instead of centering it and losing a lot of the pretty flourishes on the side, I pushed the stencil to the right. I really like the end layout of this card.
I started off with a roll off print that was made with acrylic paint for my background. It had such nice, warm tones of brown and yellow. It’s a great backdrop for the Pumpkin Pouf. I placed my stencil on the background and masked off the areas around the pumpkin with low-tack tape. I applied an orange Glitter Glaze from Brutus Monroe with a palette knife. I removed the tape, then carefully applied Nuvo’s Green Envy Glacier Paste. I was careful to not get any of the green where the pumpkin is, or the dots are. I removed the stencil and let the panel dry before I moved on to the dots and swirls. For that I used a purple Glitter Glaze from Brutus Monroe. Again, I let the panel dry after that. Be sure to wash your stencil immediately, or the pastes won’t come off.
I wanted the stenciled design to pop more, so I went partially around the design with my white Signo Gel Pen. I grabbed a sentiment from Altenew’s Cherry Blossom Tree set stamped it with Regal Kiss ink from Pinkfresh Studio, and added it to the panel. I inked the edges of my card base with Scattered Straw and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks.
There is a lot of really pretty shine on this card, that’s tough to capture on camera. This is a great card to give a Hostess at Thanksgiving, or to send to friends and family when you know you can’t be with them for the holidays.
