Hello! You probably know that I am all about Halloween and “spooky season,” so I am loving all of the Halloween-themed stencils that were released this month from A Colorful Life Designs. Today’s card uses the Brooms stencil. It’s a 3×5 stencil, so it’s on the smaller side but it has 9 brooms! You can definitely pair it with some witch stamps that you may have in your stash.

I used a piece of cream colored cardstock to stencil my brooms on. I used a combination of Distress Oxides in Ground Espresso, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, and Fossilized Amber. I used a Sanguine PITT Pen from Faber Castell to add detail into the straw of the brooms. I used my Tonic Deckle Trimmer to give a cool edge to the top and bottom of the panel, and I inked the edges a bit with more Walnut Stain. I needed some shimmer, so I grabbed Rich Cocoa Fireworks! Spray and flicked it all over.
For my back layer, I took a piece of lightweight cardstock and cut it to 4″ x 5 1/4.” Then I tore up some old papers and used Collage Medium to decoupage them to the cardstock. I also added a sticker from Tim Holtz’s Halloween Clippings. I mounted the layers on to a brown card base.
I love all of these brooms. Which one is your favorite? Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the many, many stencils they have to offer.
