Greetings! It’s time for some Mid Month Inspiration from A Colorful Life Designs! For the past few months, there has been a special stencil released in the middle of the month at a discounted price. This month, the stencil is called Pretty Tile, and it’s on the background of today’s card. In addition, I also used the new Flame Chevron stencil.

This card started with a Gel Press print that was made with pink, yellow, and blue ink. I was trying to get some stamped impressions on it, but I didn’t love the end result. I don’t like to waste my prints, so inking the bold Flame Chevron on top with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide made the monoprint look much better. I wanted to keep using the pink, yellow, and blue, so I stamped out 2 feathers from Altenew’s Happy Dreams stamp set onto yellow cardstock, which I then embossed with a clear yellow embossing powder for texture and shine. My sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I inked it with Charming Pink VersaFine Clair Ink. I then fussy cut these elements out.
Directly on my card base, I inked the Pretty Tile stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I didn’t like the strong contrast with the white card base, so I inked my Tim Holtz Brayer with more Tumbled Glass, and rolled the color all over, in varying directions. I wanted to add some baubles, so I adhered a few clear cabochons with Waterfall Stickles. You can see the pretty glitter through the cabochons, plus it alters the color of the Distress Oxide underneath, which is a cool effect.
I’m really happy with how this card came out! Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the many, many stencils they have to offer.
