Greetings! I have a shaker card to share today that uses the Chunky Circles stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I used a background I didn’t really care for, and since this stencil has a good amount of negative space, it made the background look much better when I was done.

The background was made with Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey, Faded Jeans, Cracked Pistachio, and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxides. I did some ink blending and ink smooshing on it. But again, I didn’t love it. So I laid the stencil on top and inked it with more Faded Jeans, but much heavier. I wanted to define the design a bit more…ir reminds me of beads…so I grabbed my B45 and B39 Copic markers and added shadowing around them. Next I added a sentiment which I heat embossed with Copper embossing powder. I also flicked on some blue ink for more interest.
I really wanted to make this a shaker card, so I grabbed 2 Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground (sadly, they are no longer in business) and made a flat shaker with some stamp packaging. This will mail with no problem because it’s so flat. I inked the card base with Cracked Pistachio and Faded Jeans.
I love all of these colors together, and that the sequins matches all of them so well. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the many, many stencils they have to offer.
