Peace Love Coffee

Hello! The April Release from A Colorful Life Designs is filled with stencils that are perfect for any coffee or tea lover. Get ready to see a ton of amazing projects that are perfect for anyone that loves these beverages. My card today is the first one I made with this release. It’s called Peace Love Coffee and I had an idea as soon as I saw the stencil.

I’ve mentioned many times that I really enjoy just making backgrounds. Sometimes it’s with Distress Oxides, sometimes it’s with my Gel Press, sometimes it’s with alcohol ink. I love having a stash of things I can work with at a later date. This background was made with Ranger Alcohol Inks on Poster Board Paper from Dollar Tree. I don’t recall all of the exact colors I used, but I know there’s Pistachio, Dandelion, I believe Glacier, and maybe Crimson. But I’m not positive. I love the play of colors here and it really reminded me of Tie Dye, so I knew this stencil was perfect for it.

I mixed white embossing paste with brown acrylic paint to make brown paste. I thought it would stand out nicely against the bright background. Once it dried, it didn’t pop quite enough, so I highlighted one side with a white Posca Pen. To make the white show further, I left my card base white (gasp!). This is one of those instances where adding anything to the edges would have taken away from the card, so I really like the white on this one.

I love this card! The Peace Love Coffee stencil is so great, and it works so well with the alcohol ink background. I can think of a number of people that would like it.
