I Wish You Lived Closer

Hello! Have you heard? Stampendous is now part of the Spellbinders family! Plus, there is a new release that just came out yesterday. I got to work with a couple of the new sets, and I combined them with some older ones (that are available on the Spellbinders website). The card I am sharing today uses the new Hummingbird Day Clear Stamp Set with the older True Friends Perfectly Clear set.

I started by coloring that sweet hummingbird with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens on Canson Mixed Media Paper. After I fussy cut it, I tried to find a background in my stash to work with. I had recently made some Gel Press prints with Radiant Neon re-inkers. I believe this print was the 4th pull, so you can see that the colors are pretty pale and not neon at all. The first few were much more vibrant, but I wanted softer tones for this background, so this print was almost perfect. It just needed a few more things.

I stamped the purple coneflowers with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne and colored them with Copics. To add a little something extra to the background, I stamped one of the small stamps in the Hummingbird Day set with Lost Shadow Distress Oxide. It was the perfect thing to add some more interest. I stamped my sentiment with VersaFine Clair Ink in Twilight, which is my favorite color for sentiments besides Nocturne. To really draw your eye in to the card, I inked the edge of my background with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. On my card base, I used the residual ink that was on my pink blending brush. I popped the hummingbird up with some foam adhesive, and the card was done.

I love how this card came together. The Stampendous stamps are fun to color, and the tiny little graphic stamps in the set are great to add that little something “extra” our projects often need. I’ll have another card featuring the new Stampendous release soon. Be sure to visit Spellbinders to see the wide assortment of Stampendous items they now carry. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
