Hello! Back in January, I did a FB Live for Stamp Anniething where we played with stencils and Gelatos. I made several backgrounds and I’ve used a couple of them on cards. But I had another that was just sitting on my desk, waiting to be used that was made with the Retro Circles stencil. I decided it was going to be perfect with the brand new Kawaii Cuties stamp set called, We Will Rock You. The release is today, so you can grab it right now! If you’d like to see exactly how the background was made, you can watch the replay HERE.

I used the colors in the background as my jumping off point for the musical instruments, which I colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I used the coordinating Outline Dies to cut them out. I needed to ground them, so I die cut a circle using one of the patterned papers from Stamp Anniething’s Retro Kitchen Paper Pad and a deep blue ring on top of that. This arrangement reminds me of the old Dr. Mario game on Nintendo! Did you ever play that game? You know how you can see the little viruses under the microscope lens? That’s what this looks like to me.
I needed another element, so I tore a piece of sheet music and sprayed it with Saltwater Taffy Distress Spray Stain. I also inked the torn edge with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I used a scrap of the sheet music for my sentiment, which I also sprayed with Saltwater Taffy. The edges of my card base were inked with Twisted Citron Distress Ink.
I was really happy to finally use the stenciled background I made in January. It worked so well with these new stamps! Be sure to check out the full line of Kawaii Cuties over at the Stamp Anniething shop. I encourage you to join the Stamp Anniething Stampers group on Facebook too. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
