Hello! I worked with one of the newest 6×9 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs for today’s card…it’s called Rolling Road. And truthfully, you don’t really get a full idea of what this stencil looks like, because I’ve cropped it down a certain way, so I really encourage you to visit the A Colorful Life Designs website to see what it looks like in it’s entirety. With it, I used a new (to me) stamp set from Altenew called Fancy Star Builder. I’ve wanted that stamp set for a while, and I thought it would be fun to pair up with Rolling Road.

I inked Rolling Road with Hydrangea Crisp Dye Ink from Altenew, on a pale purple cardstock. It’s nice to use colored cardstock for your focal layer, instead of white. Next, I started to build my star using some VersaFine Clair Inks. I didn’t line things up perfectly, but I think the star looks good. I used Medieval Blue, Monarch and Purple Delight. My sentiment was also inked in Medieval Blue on a lavender colored cardstock.
I needed the star to be more of a focal point, so I die cut a ring using two circle dies. I also added a few purple sequins, and I inked the edges of my card base with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink, because I wanted it to be soft color, and not super saturated like my VersaFine Clairs would have been.
I look forward to playing with the Fancy Star Builder a lot more. I think it will go great with many of my stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.
