Hi! The other day I posted THIS card that used the new Neuro Doodles Supernova stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I had mentioned that I sprayed the stencil generously with Cut Grass Dylusions Spray and that I flipped the stencil on to a new panel to use the excess spray that was on the stencil itself. This is the card I made from it.

I had had this panel started quite a while ago, where I sprinkled on some Brushos in Sea Green, spritzed the cardstock with water, and smooshed the color around a bit. I didn’t love it, and I knew it needed a lot of work, so the Neuro Doodles Supernova was perfect because there’s so much to look at on it. So again, while the stencil was still wet from being sprayed with Dylusions, I flipped it over on to the Brushos panel and pressed it down. The color transferred really well, and were I wasn’t happy, I used a small brush that was dipped directly into the Cut Grass Spray and repainted the lines. You can’t even tell where I did it, which is good.
After the panel was dry, I cut it down with my Deckle Trimmer from Tonic and Tim Holtz. I’m so excited to finally have that trimmer. My son got it for me for Christmas because he knew I wanted it. I then splattered on some deep turquoise spray (the company the spray is from went out of business). I wanted to pull the eye in towards the center as I did on the other card that used this stencil, so I inked the edges first with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, followed by Chipped Sapphire. I used Peacock Feathers on my card base as well. I grabbed a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio’s My Favorite Things to Say: Volume 2 and inked it with VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze. I also embossed it with Salvaged Patina Distress Embossing Glaze for texture and shine.
Although I still used a lot of green on this card, I feel like it has quite a different vibe from my first take with this cool stencil. Do you have a favorite? I don’t. I love the depth of the greens on the first card, but I love how this one seems to have so many layers….like you’re looking into cells or something. They were both a lot of fun to make, and because I flipped the stencil over for this card, I didn’t waste any of the spray. Plus, I used up a background that I didn’t love…but I love it now.
