Greetings! I have a holiday card today that is rustic with a touch of glam. I was playing with the Christmas Tree Deer stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, and I decided to only use a single stripe from the stencil. You don’t have to use an entire stencil on your project, so this is a fun way to just use a portion of it.

On a Kraft cardstock, I inked a single row of the Christmas Tree Deer stencil with VersaFine Clair Ink in Fallen Leaves and Rainforest. I trimmed it down ad decided to pair it with a buffalo plaid paper from Echo Park’s A Lumberjack Christmas 6×6 paper pad. I decided to also add a strip of black paper behind the stenciled layer to help it stand out against the plaid.
On a piece of old book paper, which I had torn, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Bold Tidings Mini stamp set from Stampers Anonymous and Tim Holtz. I inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I wanted a bit of glam, so I dug out gold square rhinestones from the depths of my craft room (they are SO old!) and added 3.
I find rustic holiday cards charming, and I like finding ways to add some shine. Did you know that from 12/2-12/4/2022 A Colorful Life Designs is having a huge BOGO sale?
