Hello! Last month I did a YouTube Live for Imagine, where I shared different ways to use Fireworks! Sprays. One of the things I did was make a background that I had first used stencil paste on. The stencil I used was Fractured Squares by A Colorful Life Designs. It’s got kind of a tribal vibe to it that I really love. You can catch a replay of the YouTube Live HERE.

I used Potter’s Clay, Tangelo, and Dandelion Fireworks! Sprays for this background. I had first applied white embossing paste through the stencil and let it dry. At around the 15 minute mark of the YouTube Live, you can see me working on this piece.
The shine on this panel is so amazing, especially in person. Because it’s so pretty, I didn’t want to cover much of it up, so I tore some orange mulberry paper to fit in the corner. On top of that, I added a sentiment from PinkFresh Studio’s Perfect Sentiments Stamp and Perfect Sentiment die. It was stamped with VersaFine Clair Ink in Summertime. Nothing else was needed on the card.
*Pro Tip: To get mulberry paper to have a fabulous frayed edge, lightly mist the paper with water where you want to tear it. It will pull apart easily and leave that wonderful raggedy edge.
Making backgrounds like this is quick (minus the drying time) and easy. I sometimes like to make a bunch of paste embossed backgrounds at once so that once they’re all dry, I have plenty of things to work with. They’re great to keep on hand so that in a pinch, you can make a card in no time. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the many, many stencils they have to offer.
