Greetings! I have a really fun and simple Halloween card to share today that uses the Halloween Stripes stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I really like all the different designs on this one stencil, and I can see myself picking and choosing different stripes to use on future cards. But today, I used all of the stripes.

I often use my Gel Press Plate and brayers to play, and when I do, I need to have a scrap piece of paper to “roll-off” the extra paint or ink that is on my brayer. This eventually turns into a beautiful monoprint that’s full of colors, some texture, and a lot of unplanned grungy beauty. That’s what the background for this card is. Just a roll-off print. I loved the textures and colors on it, and it had just enough grunge to make it a great Halloween card.
After I trimmed my print down, I stenciled the Halloween Stripes on top using Distress Inks in Rustic Wilderness, Crackling Campfire, Villainous Potion, and Chipped Sapphire. On top of that, I stamped a sentiment from an old Tim Holtz stamp set and embossed it with Villainous Potion Distress Embossing Glaze on top of VersaFine Clair Ink in Monarch. I stuck the layer on a Kraft card base.
If you acquire any roll-off prints while you’re playing…save them! I made his card so fast and it looks like I spent quite some time creating that background. I think it came out really cool, and this stencil is perfect for this type of print. Be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see all of the awesome stencils they have to offer…and it is a lot.
