Besties

Greetings! I have a new Kawaii Cuties project to share today. Kawaii Cuties is one of several collections from Stamp Anniething. The stamps I used today came out last year, and I am still having fun using them.

I was inspired by the Zombody to Love stamps, which I haven’t used as much as some of the others. I colored the kitty and the pig, using “normal” colors plus some greens and grays to give them more of a sickly vibe. They are zombies after all, right? I used the coordinating dies to cut them, plus two little hearts out. I grabbed the “Bestie” die and cut that out of green paper, plus I inked it with some Warm Grays from Altenew’s ink cube set. I realized I wanted it to say “besties” so I die cut an additional “s.” The ink made the letters look nice and grungy.

I pulled out some pink paper (from Lawn Fawn’s Watercolor pad…that’s also where the green paper is from) and used that for my main layer. I inked up my glass mat with the darkest of the Altenew Ink Gray Cubes, mixed it with water and splattered it on. In addition, I inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Oxide, and tore the edges up a bit. I also found some striped paper that reminded me of wallpaper, so I tore the bottom and added some Tea Dye, Old Paper, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide to it. It made the paper look nice and old. To my ivory card base, I used some Sage VersaMagic ink and stamped my sub sentiment with VersaFine Clair Ink in Shady Lane.

I love how grungy this card came out. I thought about adding some texture with Grit Paste or something, but I didn’t think it really needed it. But if you want to step up your own version, that would be a great addition. Be sure to visit the Stamp Anniething Stampers group on FB for more ideas, and hit up the Stamp Anniething shop. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
