Hello! I have noticed that there is a lot of pink happening in Halloween decor this year. At first, I wasn’t sure if I liked it, but because it’s a dusty, desaturated pink, I think it give a fun, fresh take on some of the less creepy Halloween decorations. Upon seeing the new release from Ellen Hutson, I seriously fell in love with it. I tend to prefer creepy or vintage Halloween over other styles, but these new stamps and dies are hilarious and beautifully simplistic. When I purchased many of the new items, I saw their September Color Trends Challenge calls for shades of orange, neutrals, and that chic dusty pink, so I knew I had to play along.

The new Ellen Hutson release seriously had me cracking up…the ghost family with the punny sentiments, a ghost you can actually dress up….I mean, this stuff is gold. And who am I kidding, my family and I are still cracking up when we look at these stamps. So I bought several new things, and on this card I used the Spooktacular stamps and the Ghost Costumes stamp and die set.
I started off by inking the Fancy Web stencil from A Colorful Life Designs with Pink Pearl Ink from Altenew. Then I inked up (Memento Tuxedo Black) and colored up the stamps I wanted. Here’s the breakdown of Copic Markers I used:
Ghost: T4, T2
Dinosaur Costume: R24, R22, R20, R11, Y17, W3
Pumpkin Bucket: YR07, YR02, YR00
House: T6, T4, T2

I cut the hand of the dinosaur costume with an X-Acto knife so that I could tuck the pumpkin bucket under it. I found my placement for the house, and then stamped the fence twice and added the sentiment. I love how the chimney is right at the center of the web. I cut a panel of gray cardstock and heat embossed a frosty pink at the bottom for a touch of shine. For once, I didn’t add any ink to my card base, but I liked how it looked clean.

I had so much fun making this card. There’s still a few days left for this Color Trends Challenge, and I am hoping I have a chance to play along again. #SEPTEMBEREBECHALLENGE Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
