Hello! The latest Sparkle Blend release from Doodles Paper Playground has several Halloween-themed mixes, which makes my heart happy. One of my favorites is Poisoned Apple, and instead of using it in a shaker card, I decided to adhere lots of individual sequins to the face of my card for a fun effect.

I was digging through my collection of Clearly Besotted stamps and found the Good to Be Bad set, which seems to no longer be available. This little witch is holding an apple, but I decided to use one of the poisoned apples that are in the Sparkle Blend instead. She of course needed a cauldron, so I dug out an old QuicKutz die and added a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Marker to it. For the ground, I used an old Tim Holtz embossing folder and inked it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and cut it down to the size I wanted the floor to be. My “wall” was made with patterned paper from K & Co. and I inked the edges with a bit of Black Soot Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.
I decided to really showcase a lot of the individual sequins in the Poisoned Apple Sparkle Blend by have them coming out of the cauldron as if they were part of the witch’s magic potion. There are more styles of sequins in the Blend, but they were a bit too big to use here. I love the varying shades of green and those teeny tiny stars. I used an easy trick to get the sequins placed exactly where I wanted them, and I talk about it in the latest FB Live I did for the Sparkle Blend release. You can catch it HERE if you’d like.
I love showing off the individual sequins this way. You can see just how varied they are in the Blends. Making this scene was a lot of fun, and it didn’t take long.
