Hello! I’ve got a new shaker card to share today that uses one of my favorite flowers…the hibiscus. I try to have at least one growing every year, and sometimes I over-winter them, if I have the space. The blooms are so big and bold…it makes them really fun to color too. I recently received the Happy Hibiscus stamp set from Clearly Besotted and because there’s a wonderful corner stamp, I knew I needed to make a shaker card. I combined 2 Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground to make a Blend that worked with my colored hibiscus perfectly.

I colored the hibiscus with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens on Canson’s Mixed Media Paper. I colored the flowers after my favorite color(s) of hibiscus, which is often hard to find. I found a great scrap of cardstock I had colored long ago with some brightly colored pink ink…could be Dylusions, but I really don’t recall. I looked through my patterned paper and found Stamp Anniething‘s Dots and Stripes paper pad. The lime green with yellow dots was perfect. On my card base, I brushed on some Tangelo Fireworks! Spray from Imagine.
My shaker has 2 Sparkle Blends, like I mentioned earlier. I used So Matcha Fun (which is all of the greens and whites you see) and Hey Chickie. All of the Sparkle Blends are 40% off right now, at the time this post went live.
I love how tropical this card is. Those colors are so bright and happy! Be sure to check out all of the awesome sequins mixes from Doodles Paper Playground over at the Sparkle Blends Shop. You can use my code, “ALISON10” for 10% off of your regular priced purchase, not including Bundles. Also, visit the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on FB for more inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by.
