Hey! Thanks for coming back. I will sometimes color up stamped images and just hang on to them until the right card for them comes up. The focal image I used today is one of the Cheeky gals from The Greeting Farm…I colored her ages ago, but I didn’t know how I wanted to use her. Then I got the Crocodile stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, and I knew I had to pair them together.

I know it seems like a weird pairing, but I decided to use a turquoise glitter embossing paste from Nuvo, which gave the stencil a funky twist. I had done my stenciling on top of a roll-off monoprint, so there’s some speckling of color in the negative spaces. My Cheeky gal was colored with my Tombow watercolor markers and fussy cut.
Because she’s sitting, I needed to perch her on to something, so I grabbed an old Seth Apter die and cut it out of hot pink cardstock to go with her striped socks. I used foam dots to pop her up. I also grabbed one of the “Hi” sentiments I had pre-stamped from my Pinkfresh Studio Perfect Sentiments Stamp and Die. The edge of my card base was inked with Grape Jelly Memento Ink.
I love how light-hearted and fun this card is. It can be used for many occasions, including “just because.” This color combo of lime green, hot pink, turquoise and purple are one of my favorites, so using them together always makes me happy. I think the Crocodile stencil can really add a unique element to your card backgrounds. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the hundreds of stencils that are available.
