Hello! Today I am sharing the card I made for my husband’s birthday, which was last week. I had yet to use the Funfetti Cake Batter Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, so I knew I wanted to start there.

Coincidentally, my husband had just surprised my with this fantastic Birthday Border Die from Hero Arts. And it was exactly what I wanted for his card. I die cut it several times from white cardstock, plus once in watercolor paper and once in holographic cardstock. My top layer was the watercolor paper, which I painted with my Sakura Koi Watercolors. I used colors that were soft, to go with the Sparkle Blend. Then I added the acetate, the white cardstock layers, and finally the holographic layer, which I glued slightly to the right so that it would show.
The Funfetti Cake Batter Sparkle Blend is a mix of soft, pastel colors. There are some caviar beads, some clay sprinkles, teeny stars, and of course a great mix of sequins. I backed my shaker with some paper from Echo Park, which happened to have the perfect colors on it. The die cuts a full card front, so I didn’t need to do anything to my card base besides add my shaker.
He loved his card, which of course made me very happy. He was pleased that I used the die he had just gotten me. It’s definitely one I will be using often. And how fun is that Sparkle Blend? It would be great for baby or wedding showers, fairy themed cards, and lots of other things. Please visit the Sparkle Blends Shop to see all of the stunning Blends that are currently available.
