Hello! Today I have a new post for Stamp Anniething‘s Kawaii Cuties collection. One of my favorite things about this collection is that all the sets are sized to work perfectly with each other, so combining images are easy! My card today uses the Haunted Homestead house (yup…a Halloween set!) with The Holidays are Here and Shaken Not Stirred.
Shortly after I had gotten Haunted Homestead, I knew I wanted to turn it into a house that wasn’t creepy. Adding the wreath from Shaken Not Stirred around the round window was going to be a great way to start. I also filled in the gaps from the window to the shutters with black ink so they didn’t look like they were hanging so much.
I added some of the critters to make it look like they are going from house to house caroling (do people do that anymore?). Everything was colored with Zig Clean Color Markers. I made a ground with brown cardstock, and I splattered dark blue paper for part of the sky, and the other part (in the hexagon) was done with the Cloud Edger stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I also added some small stars to the sky.
I have to be honest, creating scene cards aren’t easy for me, and I struggled with this one a bit. I’m still not totally sure I am happy with the overall layout. But this isn’t because of the stamps. I adore the stamps. It’s really just because I have a tough time creating those scenes. But, I’m satisfied. I have learned a few things since making this card so hopefully my next scene card will be better. Be sure to head over to the Stamp Anniething website to see all of the fantastic items they have. There is so much to look at! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
