Hello! It’s Day 2 of the Gel Press and Sassy & Crafty Collaboration and I am thrilled to be a part of it. Today, I decided to create a scene using some of my gel prints and Sassy & Crafty’s “Read, Relax, Repeat” stamp set. I did this once before with this stamp set, and I loved the card so much, I wanted to make another version. For this collaboration, there is a HUGE giveaway on Sassy & Crafty’s Instagram, so please be sure to visit to try to win.
For this card, I didn’t really plan any of my prints. I had a couple of sessions of gel printing fun, and then I dug through my pile and chose what I thought would work best. I started with the chair. I made a print using a turquoise and a deep magenta, along with an empty roll of tape from my Scotch ATG gun. See the circles? That’s from the tape roll. I just pressed the roll lightly into my plate before pulling my print. It creates such a cool effect! So I stamped the chair on the dried print and heat embossed it with black, then I cut it out. My wall was created with a “roll off print,” which is just the paper you use to clean off your brayer during a session. I loved the mix of colors and how it looks like a grungy old wall. My floor is a “ghost print” so the colors aren’t too intense, but I thought it could look like a rug.
The characters in the “Read, Relax, Repeat” stamp set are just so cute. Here I’ve used 2 out of 3 of them. I colored them, and all of their books with Copics. I used different dimensions of foam to pop them up so that I had layers of my stamped images. I also used one of the sentiments from this stamp set.
It’s fun to piece together different gel prints to make a scene. I love the end result! Want to watch me make some of these Gel Press prints live? I’ll be on the Sassy & Craft FB page this Saturday (11/14/2020) at noon EST doing just that! I hope you’ll join me. It’s going to be messy and lots of fun. Meanwhile, don’t forget to head over to the Sassy & Crafty Instagram to check out the huge prize that’s up for grabs. I’ll have another Gel Press and Sassy & Crafty collaboration project tomorrow, so I hope you’ll come back. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
