Greetings! It’s Tuesday, so it’s my day to post for the ‘Till Death Do Us Craft Halloween Series. For the month of October, the 7 participants will be posting on a specific day of the week, with everyone posting on October 1st and Halloween. It’s a month long celebration without a time consuming hop. I will have the links to all of the talented ladies at the bottom of this post. On October 1st and Halloween, we will also be joined by Mona Toth. We will be sharing our projects on different social media platforms, so the easiest way to find them all, besides the links below, is by searching our hashtag, #TillDeathDoUsCraft .
My card today uses a stamp from Stampendous, called Uncaged Raven. It’s got a cool, grungy vibe to it, so I decided to break out some Distress Oxides and do a bit of ink smooshing.
I applied Dusty Concord, Stormy Sky Antique Linen, Old Paper, and Tea Dye Distress Oxide to my work surface, and sprayed the colors with water. I smooshed my cardstock into the ink repeatedly, occasionally drying it to create layers of color. Once it was dry, I inked the Uncaged Raven with VersaMark ink and stamped it. I used Detail Black embossing powder so that it would pick up every little line.
I needed some more texture, real and faux, so I stamped the crackle stamp from Stampendous’ Grunge Script stamp set with Vintage Sepia VersaFine Ink around the edge of the panel. Next I applied some irRESISTables Texture Spray in Desert Storm. Mine is pretty old now, so it’s thickened up quite a bit, so I applied it with the straw of the sprayer, making blobs and drips around the edges. The effect is fantatic, and you can see it in the above photo. I also added some flicks of DecoArt’s Carbon Black Mister. The panel was then mounted to a gray card base.
I love the subtle colors of the Distress Oxides peeking thought the background, and the texture from the embossing powder and the irRESISTables. It’s a creepy card without being scary, and I love how it turned out. Don’t forget to visit the other ladies that are a part of the #TillDeathDoUsCraft Halloween Series. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a spooktacular day!

The raven is definitely spookier on the outside of the cage. Nice subtle colors.
