Hello! It’s Day 2 of the Sassy & Crafty and Buttons Galore & More collaboration. What did you think of the projects from yesterday? Weren’t they fun? I love seeing everyone’s take on how to use these products. Today I decided to make a shaker card using Sassy & Crafty’s Halloween Fun stamp set and Buttons Galore’s Halloween Party Doo Dadz and the clear rhinestones from the Creepy Sparkletz.
I stamped out and cut all of the imaged with Copics, then I fussy cut them. For the Erlenmeyer flask, I cut out the center with an X-Acto knife and added some acetate to the back. Then, I used Whimsy Stamps’ 1/4″ Black Foam tape (which I had to cut in half to an 1/8″) to create the shaker area and I filled it with the Halloween Party Doo Dadz. I backed it with some really old paper from Basic Grey, and then it was complete. I added the same foam tape to the back of the cauldron, and a different, less dimensional foam to the back of the witch hat. The candy corn is flat. I wanted there to be varying degrees of height, and I didn’t want only the flask to stand out.
You can see in the photo above that I added a few of the Doo Dadz to the cauldron’s bubbles. I thought it added that little something extra that the cauldron needed. I found some old patterned paper from DCWV for behind my colored images, and after I adhered them, I added the clear rhinestones and my sentiment. Everything was mounted on to a cream colored card base.
I think this card came out really cute, and I especially love the tiny shaker. It was fun to arrange these little images so that they weren’t just lined up across the bottom of the card. That way is fine, but I wanted something a little more playful.
