We’ll start with my card today.
We had gotten a new puppy just over a month ago. Her name is Dory and she is an absolute sweetheart. I was checking out some of the stamps from Sassy & Crafty and I came across Furever Friends, and there was Dory! I knew I needed the stamp set, just so I could color up my girl. So that was the jumping off point for my card.
I knew I needed to use the Ladybird Sparkle Blends with her, because Dory is black, and I really wanted to use some red with her, since I had paper pieced her bandanna with red. Look at how perfect that Sparkle Blend works with that pup! Sassy and adorable! I even left in a few of the “ladyirds” (that’s what ladybugs are called in the UK) in the shaker.
I created a mixed media background using the Comic Book 2 stencil from Sassy & Crafty, with Gelatos and black ink. My sentiment is pieced together from other Sassy & Crafty sets. And of course, I just had to include a picture of Dory, so you can see that a.) she’s adorable, b.) she looks very much like this stamp.
On to Rhiannon’s card….
Rhiannon made an awesome castle complete with a moat and a wizard! She had gotten inspired by the Build a Castle die set from Lawn Fawn, and when she saw the Baby Shark Sparkle Blend, she decided she wanted to surround her castle with a moat.
Rhiannon made the castle first, and used a cobble stone stencil from Dreamweaver to enhance it’s looks. For her door and window, she actually drew on the wood grain details! For the wizard, she drew stars on his cloak in pencil, and then colored around them with a purple marker and erased the pencil lines. For the moat, she opted to use only the opaque sequins, and leave out not only the sharks, but all of the translucent sequins too. She drew some simple, quick lines for her grass. She imitated stained glass by applying 2 colors of Nuvo Drops to her window.
That’s it for Rhiannon and I today. Phoenix will have a new card to share very soon. Below is the Giveaway information as well as the full hop list. You’ve portrayed Dory perfectly on your card, fab colouring. Rhiannon did a wonderful job adding the woodgrain texture and how clever to add a moat to protect her castle! I’m always inspired by your family’s creativity.
