Hello, sassy people! Today, I have a card that uses one of the two beautiful ladies in Sassy & Crafty’s Free & Brave stamp set. Did you see the news? I am officially one of the Sassy Crew! I am so stoked to be a part of this amazing team. Here’s my card.
I decided to color her with Copics, and I gave her a rich mocha skin tone. I’ve been really practicing with deeper skin tones lately, and I think this combination is really nice. Truth be told, I forgot to write down the combo, so I think the next thing I’m going to do is work on some color combo charts for myself.
After I colored her, I decided to ink one of the stencils from the Comic Book Stencil set with the new Speckled Egg Distress Ink. I opted to not make a mask to cover her up while I inked, but I had to be really careful. Thankfully, I have a really small blending brush that was perfect for getting around my colored Sassy Girl without messing her up. I think this stencil really adds to her powerful look.
I liked the vibe the colors of her fabric have…I was mimicking the colors of twill and denim, so I tore a piece of paper that has denim fabric printed on it. Then, I used Kraft paper for an additional mat. On my card base, I inked Stormy Sky Distress Oxide, and used the texture of the pad to my advantage, giving it a bit of a frayed look. But I needed a sentiment. I thought a simple, “you got this” would be perfect, but I didn’t have that. So I pieced together the sentiment using the “you” from the Free & Brave set, the “got” from the Sassy Girls- OMG set, and I had to create the “this” using 2 words also from the OMG set. It didn’t take long to do, and it was just what I wanted for this card.
I really like how rugged and powerful this card is, yet it’s still feminine. I really enjoyed making this, and I can’t wait to use this Sassy Girl again. Be sure to head over to Sassy & Crafty to check out all of the rad stamps and stencils they have. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
