Hello! Today, Phoenix, Rhiannon, and I, along with the rest of the Doodles Paper Playground DT are sharing projects using the June Doodles Paper Playground Sparkle Blend release in a fun Blog Hop. 8 new Sparkle Blends hit the shop this month, and you’ll get to see 3 of them here in this post. Let’s start with Rhiannon’s card.
Rhiannon knew immediately that she wanted to use the I Love the 80’s Sparkle Blend because of it’s vibrant colors and faux sprinkles. She wanted to use the dragon and unicorn from Lawn Fawn’s Critters Ever After because she knew she could color them vividly to coordinate with the Blend, and she really liked them. Look at the stripes on her dragon!
She stenciled the top layer of the card with the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp and Distress Oxides. Her window backing is done with a paper from Kindred Stamps, and she inked the edges of her card base with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide.
Phoenix’s card is up next. He wanted to make a “traffic jam,” as he really enjoys a good play on words. I found him a big jar stencil (discontinued) and some assorted cars from the “Wheels” set from Stampendous. He colored them all in, fussy cut them, and made his jar into a shaker.
For his Sparkle Blend, Phoenix chose to use the new Broken Glass, which of course is perfect for this card. It’s so funny to watch these vehicles shake around with the Sparkle Blend. He finished off his card with some fun ombre washi tape.
If you checked out the Sparkle Blend Release FB Live at the beginning of the month in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club, you would have gotten a sneak peek at this card. I really like the She Sells Seashells Sparkle Blend because of it’s tiny gold anchor and ship wheel, plus the sweet little polka dot sequins, so I knew I needed to use it. I colored up a gal from The Greeting Farm with my Zigs, and created a little beach behind her with some water patterned paper, some Kraft cardstock, and a sky that I created with Distress Oxides and cloud die cuts (Rubbernecker Stamps).
Look at how cute that Sparkle Blend is! See all the tiny shells? I used a die from Stampendous for my shaker window, and the sentiment is also from them. I love how this card and the kids’ cards turned out. And I am really looking forward to hopping along to see what the rest of the team has come up with. Below is the giveaway infor, as well as the full hop list. Please leave everyone some love! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Awesome shaker cards! I love your beach-themed card with the She Sells Seashells blend! Pretty coloring and details, and I love the seashell die you used for your shaker window! Love the blends on Rhiannon and Phoenix’s cards too, and the way they chose the perfect blends to go with their card designs!

Rhiannon’s colour choices are fab on her mystical card and it’s lovely to see Phoenix’s sense of humour at his age. Gorgeous beach scene on your card, perfect for the coming summer.

Love all these fun cards! Rhiannon’s unicorns are so colorful and go so well with that super happy shaker mix. Your card is lovely with the She Sells Seashells mix. But Phoenix’s card steals the show for me……TRAFFIC JAM!!! Bwahahahaha….. And the BROKEN GLASS shaker mix!!! I couldn’t stop smiling at his witty humor. Well done, young sir….well done!!

Seriously cute cards, love that your daughters card is cover for the Lawn Fawn fan group. But your sons card is the one I adore the most. Looks like broken glass but in a fun way, not tragic way. I kind of want to just shake and shake the card
