May 2020 Sparkle Blend Release

Hello!!! It’s time for the Doodles Paper Playground May Release Blog Hop! We’ve got a fantastic lineup of Blends this month & the Design Team has created some fun inspiration projects featuring some of the 7 new Sparkle Blends in this release! As if that weren’t enough, we are offering you the chance to win 3 fantastic prize bundles! Phoenix, Rhiannon, and I each have something to share with you today. First up is my project, and if you caught the FB Live I did in the Sparkle Blend Fan Club, you got to see this card last night!

I really wanted to work with the “Shake the Rainbow” Sparkle Blend so I used that as my jumping off point. I used the same chevron stamp on this card that I used from my Get Shit Done card (featuring the “Orange Creamsicle” Sparkle Blend) the other day. It’s perfect for backgrounds. I inked it up with the Spectrum Kaleidacolor ink pad from Imagine.

I also used the Hex Yeah dies again from Simon Says Stamp and CZ Design. Basically, I wanted to show that even if you use the same layout, by simply changing the colors and the focal stamp, you can get a completely different look. I used one of the Old School Tattoo Affirmation stamps from The Rabbit Hole Designs, along with a sentiment from the Hero Arts “You are Loved” stamp set.

The star of the show is of course the “Shake the Rainbow Sparkle Blend. It has so many beautiful colors, and i just adore the teeny rainbows in it. There are also rainbow flags in 2 sizes, plus puffy acrylic hearts, but I omitted them from this card. I’ll use them another time, for sure! I love the vibrancy of this card, and this Blend may very well be my favorite from this release.

This is Phoenix’s card. He wanted to work with the adorable “Monkey Business” Sparkle Blend. Just look at those cute little monkey heads and banana slices! He used a monkey from the “Lunar Animals” stamp set from Mama Elephant, as well as a “Let’s Celebrate” die from Simon Says Stamp.

Phoenix also used a fun texture stamp from Andy Skinner (via Stampendous) on his top layer I really like that he chose to use cream colored cardstock instead of white.

Here is Rhiannon’s card, and she decided to use the “Orange Creamsicle” Sparkle Blend. She used an adorable platypus from Clearly Besotted, added some cool plaid patterned paper, and a strip of washi tape. Then, she sprinkled on her Sparkle Blend and adhered them with On Point Glue from Imagine.

I love how she placed her sequins everywhere, and opted to not go with a shaker. I think it came out adorable! Her sentiment, by the way, is from Lawn Fawn. It’s a sweet little card and I know whoever receives it is going to love it. So, are you ready to hop? The full hop list is below, along with the giveaway info.
