Greetings! It seems like one of the big trends right now are drinks that go beyond coffee. Boba or Bubble Tea and Matcha Tea are super popular right now, in and out of the crafting world. Truthfully, I’ve never had either, but I’m drawn to the fun colors they come in! One of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground is called “So Matcha Fun,” and it’s a delightful green mix.
When I think of drink related images, I immediately think of Mug Life from Ink Road stamps. As I mentioned last week, it’s one of my all-time most favorite stamp sets, and it is just perfect for this Matcha Bubble Tea card. I colored the drinks with my Zig Clean Color markers, and I even added the little “bubbles.” I didn’t make them perfect circles, because I’ve noticed in pictures that the drink isn’t transparent. You can see most of the individual bubbles, but not completely. I used a heart die from Lawn Fawn and some fun polka dot and chevron paper for the top layer and under my shaker window.
Here you can see how pretty this Sparkle Blend is. I used craft foam, which is on the thin side, for my shaker, so I did omit the little clear “bubbles” that are in the Blend. They add so much interest, but they’re too thick to use with craft foam. I’ll use them when I use foam tape though.
My sentiment is on Kraft cardstock and is from The Rabbit Hole Designs’ Perfectly Blended stamp set. I inked the edges of my white card base to coordinate with the rest of the green on the card.
I think all of these elements work so good together, even though they are from all different companies. Once again, it is a ton of fun to create a card around a Sparkle Blend. And even though this one is based on a drink, the greens in it are so pretty, you can absolutely use it for many occasions. The new Sparkle Blends are sure to make you smile, so I hope you’ll visit the Etsy shop to see all 7 of the new release.
