Hello! Today I am sharing a card that uses the newest stencil from The Rabbit Hole Designs, called the “Broken Glass Stencil.” It is very perfect for graphic cards, and I know I’ll be using it quite a bit. I paired this stencil with the beetle from the new “Buggy for Caffeine” stamp set. be sure to read through m whole post to get the full list of hop links, as well as information on the new release giveaway!
The first thing I did was color and cut out my beetle. Then I needed to figure out how I wanted to use the Broken Glass Stencil. I colored the beetle in sort of drab colors, so I didn’t want the background to be too bright.
I decided to use the Warm Gray Mini Ink Cube Set from Altenew. These grays have a brown tint to them and they’re beautiful, especially together. They were perfect for the dare-I-say “blah” background I wanted. That beetle is just so tired, and he can’t handle bright, cheery colors yet.
Then, to give a nod to the fabulous movie from the 80’s, I stamped #beetlejuice 3 times. I plan on doing this again on another card, and coloring the beetle to resemble the movie character. I needed a little something extra on my card base, so I applied VersaMark ink to the top and bottom, and sprinkled Mushroom embossing powder from Stampendous on. When heated, the powder melts into a beautiful taupe-y gray color that works perfectly with the Warm Gray inks from Altenew.
