Hello! Today I am sharing a card that uses a very cool angles brick stencil that I got from White Rose Crafts. The White Rose Crafts shop is currently closed, but you’ll be able to get everything I used on my card there as soon as it reopens.
The brick stencil I used is from Studio Light. I really liked that the brick is on an angle. There is another version that has the bricks straight on too, that would be just as effective. I used blending brushes with Old Paper, Vintage Photo, and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Inks.
I picked through the Kaleidoscope paper pad from Kaisercraft to find a little sentiment that I thought would work on this background. I found the perfect one, so I cut it out and inked up the edges. It needed to stand out more, so I used my blending brush with more Vintage Photo Distress Oxide, and created a bit of a halo around the area I was going to place the sentiment. It needed more, so I dropped on some Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz, just where the halo is. In addition, I splattered on some black ink, for texture, on the whole background. Last, I inked up my cream colored card base with Old Paper Distress Oxide with my blending brush.
I love how it turned out, and I really like this color combination of Oxide inks. It’s a cool card that isn’t too feminine, even though there are some subtle flowers on the sentiment and it says, “beautiful.” Don’t forget to head over to the White Rose Crafts Gallery on Facebook to see what the group has been working on. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
