Hello! It’s time for a new Moodboard Challenge with White Rose Crafts! I hope you’ve been enjoying these challenges so far…I know I am. Here’s a look at this month’s Moodboard.
You can see that it is really showcasing spring, which is (thankfully) right around the corner. I was inspired by the blossoms, as well as the colors. I broke out my AALL & Create Poppies (#207) stamp set. I’m having so much fun with these stamps! Here’s my card…
I started by stamping and coloring the image with the small buds. I used Arteza Real Brush Pens to color it in. I tore around my image, and then applied some Blue ScrapBerry Stain ink to my glass mat, and applied it to the torn edge with a wet brush. Then it was time to make my background.
I took a piece of cardstock that I applied gesso to, and then rubbed on 5 different colors of Gelatos. I haven’t worked with them too often, and I want to get more comfortable with what they can do. After I scribbled my colors on to the cardstock, I spritzed it with water and used my finger to blend the colors. Next, I laid down the circle stencil from Kaisercraft’s Grunge stencil set, and rubbed the exposed areas with a paper towel to remove some of the color. I didn’t remove too much, so when I took off the stencil, the pattern was subtle, which I like.
Next I took one of the sentiment stamps from the Poppies set and stamped it all over my background. I didn’t really want you to be able to read the sentiment…I wanted it to just be more of a pattern, than words. I decided I needed something else, so I cut a strip of text from Kaisercraft’s Kaleidoscope paper pad and adhered it to my background in a few spots. Last, I dropped on some irRESISTable Spray in Tuxedo Black for shine and texture.
These colors make me think of a spring sunrise and warm breezes. I love the soft texture the gealtos created on the background, and the focal AALL & Create stamp is so pretty. I hope you’ll join in with this latest Moodboard challenge over in the White Rose Crafts Gallery on Facebook. You just need to upload your photo to the appropriate album…no blog required! And don’t forget to use my code, “Alison15” when you visit the White Rose Crafts shop. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
