Hello! It’s time for the December White Rose Crafts December Sketch Challenge! I always enjoy playing along with sketch challenges. They take off some of the pressure of card making/scrapbooking. This month’s sketch is really unique.
I decided to take the sketch pretty literally. I pulled out some patterned paper from Craft O’clock, the stamp set from the November Subscription Kit, Sparkle Cardstock from Lawn Fawn, and of course a Sparkle Blend (Diamond) from Doodles Paper Playground.
I like the muted tones of the “Brr…It’s Cold Outside” paper pad. The snowflake paper was just perfect for my sky. I really like the large snowflakes. My ground was created with a piece of scrap Sparkle Cardstock in Pixie from Lawn Fawn. Super easy, and no mess!
The sparkle is incredible! I stamped my tree and sentiment with Gray Flannel Memento ink from Imagine. Then I chose several sequins from the “Diamond” Sparkle Blend which are perfect for a snowy sky. I also decided to add some detail to the tree using Sea Breeze Nuvo Jewel Drops.
I enjoy soft, wintry cards. They are a quite a contrast to the often bold cards of Christmas. I enjoy those as well, but the winter cards give my mind a rest, even if it’s just for a moment.
As always, you can play along with the WRC Sketch Challenge in the White Rose Crafts Gallery on Facebook. You can find all of the information on how to play along there. I hope you’ll join us!
