Hello! Today I am sharing a card that uses elements from the latest White Rose Crafts Subscription Kit, called “Mediterranean Dreams“. This kit is full of beautiful papers, a fun stamp set, wonderful ribbons, and more. I was really inspired by the little houses from the stamp set (Summer Splash by Kaisercraft), so those were my starting point.
Originally, I was planning on masking the little cluster of houses, so I began by stamping with Twilight VersaFine Clair ink on to a random scrap of semi-gloss cardstock (it was actually an old store sale sign, so you can imagine the shine on it). When it dried down and I cut it out, I liked the look of it so much, I decided to forgo the masking and just stamp 2 more houses out of the same cardstock. Because of the sheen on the cardstock, the ink sits on top of it for a bit and doesn’t dry evenly, giving the houses more of a watercolored look, which I really loved.
I added a little bit of color using some warm grey Prismacolor Markers, purposely keeping it a bit streaky to go with the look of the houses themselves. I adhered them to regular white cardstock, and I popped one of them up with some foam tape. I also tore the bottom edge of that piece and used the same greys to highlight the tear and mimic a sandy beach. I added my sentiment, also using Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink, and wrapped the piece with some of the lush, velvet ribbon that comes in the kit.
I chose one of the beautiful papers that’s in the kit for my background, and trimmed it down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhered it to a white card base. The paper really made this card pop.

I love the sun-bleached, weather-beaten look you’ve got on those beach huts, and the southern Spain feel of the backing paper!
