Hello! I’ve got a shaker card to share with you today that features one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. It’s called Spring Fling and it’s got shades of purple, yellow, pink, a little blue, and opalescent bits in it. It’s a lovely mix of sizes too! This card was made for one of my daughter’s teachers, so I decided to color this Always the Flower Girl from Tiddly Inks to look like my little girl.
Because I printed the Tiddly Inks image about 3 1/2″ tall, I knew I wanted a single shaker that was large enough to stand out. I used a square Fitted Frame from Stampendous, because the simple yet fun shape is perfect for pretty much everything. I backed the shaker with a pale yellow patterned paper, since I like to add an additional pattern wherever I can. It has just subtle splotches, but it has more interest than just plain yellow.
I colored Always the Flower Girl with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers. My daughter would absolutely wear this dress, with bright pink socks and boots. She has really long brown hair and is always giving me flowers. She doesn’t have a purple streak, but she does wear clip on colored hair pieces from time to time. I added some ric-rak and a sentiment from Hero Arts’ You are Loved stamp set, stamped on vellum.
I think the card came out happy and fun, just like my little girl. I think the Spring Fling Sparkle Blend is great for more than just spring cards, and I know that if you snag it, you will love using it.
