Greetings! This is going to be such an exciting week for Dreamweaver Stencils fans and Stampendous Stamps fans alike. It’s going to be a “Dream-Pendous” week of inspiration! The Dreamweaver and Stampendous teams are collaborating once again with all the fun toys in each team’s arsenals. Of course, as usual, there will be prizes given out for those who comment throughout the week. In fact, there will be 3 prize packs available! Each will have a great selection of Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampedous dies and images. One being the new “Blossom Beauty” face image as shown in the badge in my sidebar.
I am beyond excited to share my project with you. I made an art journal page, with a….rather altered…version of the fantastic Blossom Beauty image.
Can you tel that I had soooooo much fun with her?!? It was a blast to rework her beautiful face and turn half of her into a sugar skull. The flowers are really what inspired me to do it. They are so big and beautiful. And all 3 flowers are from one stamp! I simple used the Stampendous dies that were made for the flowers to cut out the different versions.
You can see here what the 2 stamps in the set look like. Here’s a closer look of the colored images. Feel free to click on any of my pictures to see them even bigger.
I colored the images with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. And did you check out my background? That was all done with Dreamweaver Stencils! I used Houndstooth, Scales, and Amesterdam Flourish. I applied the Houndstooth and the Scales with a cosmetic sponge and Distress Inks in some of the brighter tones that I have. Then I used a bit of gesso on top. Then, using black acrylic paint and a small round stencil brush, I applied the flourish. I had a little bit of paint run under, so after the paint dried, I used a white pen to clean it up a bit. Last, I applied the face and flowers, and used a Martha Stewart border punch to create a choker-style necklace.
I hope you liked my art journal page. Below is the full hop list for today. I will have another piece for this fantastic collaboration later this week. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
