Hello and welcome! Today is the final day for the Dream-Pendous collaboration. In case you’ve missed it, that’s Dreamweaver Stencils, and Stampendous have been making pure madic all week, by using many of the fun toys in each companies’ arsenal. There are 3 awesome prizes to be won for 3 lucky fans. So be sure to leave comments on each blog! One of the prizes include the new “Blossom Beauty” stamp set that is shown in the badge on my sidebar. Here’s my creation for today.
If you hopped on Monday, you may recall how I transformed the Blossom Beauty face into half pretty face, half Day of the Dead face (which I personally also find to be quite pretty!). This time, I went for pure, saturated colors. And no flowers. I don;t tend to get political with my art, but I wanted to show my place when it comes to “differences” between people. Skin deep differences. I feel, that we really are all the same.
I made a 12×12 layout. So it’s nice and big. I colored the 4 faces with Spectrum Noir, Prisma Color, and Copic markers. My favorite version is the yellow (though I am not typically a yellow type of gal) because the shades blended so well. Some of my other colors are a bit disjointed…my shades aren’t close enough to each other. But, I do like how they all came out.
I colored their eyes and lips all the same. As far as the fantastic Dreamweaver Stencils that I used, here’s the list. I worked with Leafless Tree, Zebra Texture, and Damask. I applied each image with black ink and a large stencil brush. For my sentiment, I used a black marker.
I kept the background black and white so that the faces really stood out. And to further cement my opinion. I hope you like my project. Even if your opinion does not match mine, please just take the piece as art. My Daughter decided it would be fun to play along too (she’s 5). This is what she made, using her Crayola colored pencils.
Below is the full link list for today. Thank you to Dreamweaver Stencils and to Stampendous for having me hop with you this week. It has been wonderful! Thank you so much for stopping by.Have an inspiring day!
