Hello! Earlier this month, I shared a card using the new Ceiling Tile stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. You can see that post HERE. I really love this large stencil, so I wanted to use it again right away. This time, I decided to offset the center of the stencil.

I pulled out a scrap that had leftover ink from the Layered Party stencil. If you look closely, you can see the sprinkles. So there was already a nice wash of color on the paper, and this helped me to choose what other colors I’d use for this card. I inked the focal flower with Villainous Potion Distress Ink and faded it into Twisted Citron. I wanted some shine, so I flicked on some Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Gold.
I inked up an older sentiment stamp from Gina K Designs with VersaFine Clair Ink in Monarch. This panel was pretty small, so I matted it with a peachy colored cardstock before applying it to my white card base. I actually kept the base white, and didn’t add additional colors for once.
This is a nice all-occasion card that uses a background that you may not love, or doesn’t have quite enough happening on it. Using a stencil that has large negative spaces allows the background to kind of fade back, but still be visible enough to be more “exciting” than just a plain background. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the hundreds of stencils that are available. There are so many amazing stencils that are unlike any you may have seen before. Thank you so much for your kind words!
