Hello! It’s been 3 years since the last #PaperCraftersUniteAgainstRacism Instagram Hop, and we need it now more than ever. What’s happening in the US by the presidential administration is horrific and I, for one, am embarrassed to be an American right now. We need to speak up and speak out for all of the social injustices that are happening.

This is the largest #PCUAR hop ever and many participants are newbies. I think I am the only person that has participated in every single one of these hops, and I even got to run a couple of them. Take your time to hop along and check out what every participant created. For now, you can take a peek at my project.

I decided to highlight many beautiful shades of brown for my card today, using alcohol inks. I used the Wavy Lines Die along with a sentiment from the We All Started Somewhere Stamp & Cut, both from Hero Arts, to encourage all of us to keep moving forward. I die cut the Wavy Lines out of Jot Poster Board Paper from Dollar Tree. Then, I inked the pieces in a pattern, with 5 alcohol ink colors, so there are 2 panels for each color. I used Espresso, Teakwood, Sepia, Rust, and Sienna. This came together really quickly.

After I adhered the pieces to my card base, I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of vellum with VersaMark Ink. Then I used a sparkly brown embossing powder on it. I liked the idea of the vellum being a soft transition between the layers. Then I added some Satin Matte Chocolate Brown Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

This card is really not about the products, but the meaning behind what I created. I hope that you will join all of the paper crafters in this hop and stand up against racism. You could call or write your local government, you could join a protest, you can share information on social media, etc. There are so many things you can do, big and small, that can make an impact. Please do what you can. And don’t forget to check out all of the hoppers. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day.
